We’ve had a serious room domino effect since adding Brynley’s nursery to the mix. The solution: shoving things in closets and just closing the door (yikes!).
I figured it was time though for me to create a tiny little workspace that I can assign as my own drop zone for mail, school papers I need to look over, and just plain my corner of the house.
I’ll spare you all of the DIY details, because I didn’t take any before and afters. I was just in the zone. Had my can of white paint out, and a can of this spray paint and went to town.
I’m currently in major purge mode, so I tried to only use things that I already had and simply repurpose them.
You guys, I have SO much stuff. It’s gross. Rummaging through all of my “old” home decor, I was able to give new life to almost ALL of this corner using things I ALREADY had!
1. IKEA (spray painted gold) / 2. IKEA (Craigslist find painted semi-gloss white) / 3. Garage Sale plus leftover chicken wire from here (spray painted gold) / 4. Thrift store frames plus this print (already had) / 5. Homegoods forever ago (spray painted gold) / 6. IKEA
It’s amazing what can be transformed with just a little bit of paint, and a vision for a clean, organized, functional space.
A friend on IG asked me where I store all my clutter for this space.
The reality is that when I took these pictures, it was all just to the right of this crop. And behind.
Because let’s be honest. When I’m actually USING the space (not just staring at it), it will NOT be this clean. I really do live here people.
I’ll enjoy the cleanliness though while it lasts.
