Fun, big, exciting news in the Dirt Stains and Paint household: We’re Moving!!
For about a year and a half, we’ve had our eye on our dream neighborhood. This neighborhood is reminiscent of ‘the good ole days’: neighborhood Easter egg hunts, 4th of July parades, parks, bike trails, tennis courts, jumping in the lake, etc.
A place for us, and our kids to build community.
The catch: the house we are purchasing is stuck in the ’70’s.
This is a classic “Buy the worst house in the best neighborhood”.
It is an original owner, and they responded to our love letter strategy (more on that later), and we couldn’t be more delighted.
So what does this mean for you?
It means you get to journey along in the realization of part 2 of our dream: and that is gutting a house and doing a giant remodel.
Now I’m no interior designer, but I think I have a pretty clear idea of what I like (read: whatever Joanna Gaines does).
What would Joanna Gaines do?
If you’ve been following along on Pinterest, my account has been BLOWING UP with pictures of farmhouse kitchens, marble countertops, and planked walls.
This is going to be a journey that will most likely last for about a year (if not longer depending on permits and contractors), but we’re excited! And no, we will NOT be living in it for the bulk of the remodel – we’re not that crazy. 😉
We’re so thankful for the start of this new chapter, and all that it will bring – including the chaos. Down the road, there will be lots of fun before and after’s, but for now I’ll leave with some fun pins and some sneak peaks of some before’s.
I’ll also be sharing how we acquired the house – not in your traditional way; which is another answer to prayer!
And as promised, here’s a snapshot (literally, from my phone) of a few of the spaces that will be getting an entire overhaul. 🙂
