Thought I’d share some pictures of our mudroom today.
This room is GIANT. And these pictures won’t do it justice, mainly because outside the walls of these frames is…well, our laundry.
Living at the lake, we wanted to be super intentional with our flooring choice in here. Knowing that sand, mud, and water were going to be a regular staple coming in through this exterior door.
The changes we made in here were fairly substantial.
Aside from everything cosmetic (new door, new flooring, paint, cabinets, countertops, wall treatments, sink, etc) – we added a bunch of space for our washer and dryer, so that essentially we wouldn’t lose any floor space walking in to and from the park/beach everyday.
Mudrooms in general are real high traffic, and usually need to do at least 10 jobs at once.
Hmm…now that I think about it, I wonder if that’s why I love mudrooms so much?
It sounds like a mom!
I love everything about this space.
And like I said, there’s actually several more design elements to it that I’ll show you once we get it all cleaned up (hint: it’s an old school half lite door!).
And just for fun, you can see where we started and what we were working with:
