Hey! Welcome to Dirt Stains and Paint – a place where I can share my thoughts, DIY’s, and real life style. It would be helpful for you to meet my people.
That hot guy in the middle is taken. We met and fell in love over 12 years ago in college (go Huskies!). He’s smart, hard-working and a finance guru. A total modern dad, this man is fully my other half, rolling up his sleeves with me in our everyday life tackling diapers, dinner, and errands. We married in 2006, lived a short stint in sunny southern California, but then decided to settle down near our hometowns up in the Seattle area. I seriously love doing life with him, and am not sure where I’d be without my best friend.
We then started our family in 2010 by adding #1, #2, and #3.
These three keep us super busy, and on our toes. Most days I feel like I’m running a three ring circus (often literally), but when I kick my feet up at the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade it (or them) for anything. We’re in the thick of the parenthood trenches, and our days can be hard. Thank goodness for preschool, nannies and our community that makes our life survivable. Sometimes even fun. 😉
Oh, and then there’s me!
A few things I need to get out there before we become friends: I only do pre-made cookie dough (and then I usually eat 4-5 cookies in one sitting), Instagram is my jam, I online shop A LOT but mostly just leave stuff in “my cart” and don’t actually buy it. I’m a total jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, but every so often I like to get a little fancy (I’m talking preschool mom fancy, not ball gown fancy). I definitely watch too much reality TV, with the Bachelor, Sister Wives and Teen Mom being at the top of my list (I know, terrible).
I love coffee (with flavored creamer), chocolate (cookies!), Jesus and will most likely choose a pale ale over a glass of wine most nights.
I’m excited to be your friend, as blogging has become such a means of sanity for me as a mom. I hope you feel inspired, and normal here. I’m just a regular mom trying to minimize my kids’ future counseling, be a better wife, dress a little cuter than yoga pants everyday and hoping Jesus fills in the rest of the inevitable gaps.
